Funeral today for former PISD athletic director

Funeral services are today for former Pearland school district athletic director Mike Watson, who died Thursday, according to this entry from the Pearland Journal.
Graveside services were scheduled for today, May 11, at noon in Rusk at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Watson, 55, was athletic director for nine years at Pearland High School. He retired after being put on administrative leave following an incident last summer in which he allegedly brought a gun to a Pearland school district facility.
In the Journal entry, colleagues including Pearland head football coach Tony Heath remembered Watson and expressed sorrow at his death.
The cause of death is undetermined, the entry said.
