Chavez grad Fenton plays in New Mexico victory
Chavez High School graduate Jamal Fenton recorded two assists and one steal for the University of New Mexico in a 70-60 win at home against conference rival San Diego State University on Feb. 27, according to New Mexico's website.
The Lobos improved to 24-4 on the season and 11-2 in the Mountain West Conference.
Fenton was rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com entering his senior season of play at Cesar E. Chavez High School in 2008-09 playing for head coach Kevin Pullum. He was also ranked in the top 10 in the Houston area by RCSSports.com and top 20 in Texas by Texashoops.com.
