Glanda Dawson High School takes first at HOSA Spring Leadership Conference

Glenda Dawson High School won first place in the HOSA Spring Leadership Conference on Feb. 8, it was recently announced.

According to a press release from Glenda Dawson High School, "Glenda Dawson High School, Pearland, Texas participated in the HOSA 2013 Spring Leadership Conference at L.V. High Tower High School. It received the first place in the Community Awareness category.

The school's Ashvanthi Raveendran, Nishvanthi Raveendran, Zehra Zaidi and Raissa Mathura attended the event and will represent Glenda Dawson in the state leadership conference in April.  Nishvanthi Raveendran, historian of Glenda Dawson High School HOSA won the second place in the outstanding HOSA chapter category. Dr. Rene Lasanta is the HOSA advisor.

This team went to the Pearland neighborhoods and created awareness on heart disease and collected $1,000 by going door to door, donating the money to the American Heart Association, according to the release.
