Three Deer Park runners complete Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon

Three Deer Park athletes completed the Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon on Sunday, Feb. 10 in Houston.

The runners from Deer Park and their finishing times were Earnest Rocha, 36, 2:01:49; Veronica Rocha, 36, 2:28:24; and Lisa Whitten, 47, 2:32:52.

Race organizers said 1,066 runners finished the 13.1-mile race, which began and ended at Sam Houston Park.

Benjamin Zywicki, of The Woodlands, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 1:11:54, while Catherine Kruppa, of Houston, was the winner in the women's category with a time of 1:32:19.
