29 Pearland runners complete Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon

A total of 29 Pearland athletes completed the Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon on Sunday, Feb. 10 in Houston.

The runners from Pearland and their finishing times were Ricky Riveria, 51, 1:40:03; Jennifer Lewis, 28, 1:40:49; Melissa Aytenfisu, 30, 1:54:34; Israel Cerda, 36, 1:58:27; John Bickel, 44, 2:02:18; Briana Ferguson, 36, 2:03:43; Anthony Bruno, 45, 2:06:49; Rachel Gaston, 37, 2:08:51; Michelle Keener, 38, 2:17:26; Andrea Gunderman, 29, 2:18:51; Michelle Harris, 31, 2:22:36; Sam Cheng, 33, 2:24:08; Janet Cole, 44, 2:24:09; Kathy Kipp, 55, 2:24:10; Dana Atkinson, 38, 2:24:14; Mark Clemens, 37, 2:25:48; Amy Drouet, 40, 2:27:01; Zach May, 15, 2:29:23; Greg May, 43, 2:30:38; Catalina Tello, 41, 2:35:17; Michelle Hoover, 28, 2:36:24; Tanner Jones, 26, 2:41:16; Brain Sharpless, 43, 2:41:41; Patti Cardenas, 51, 2:44:11; Tonya Johnson, 42, 2:44:44; Janelle Jones, 39, 2:46:00; Joann Jones, 28, 2:48:25; Amanda Cottle, 34, 2:52:17; and Sarah Sharpless, 41, 2:53:35.

Race organizers said 1,066 runners finished the 13.1-mile race, which began and ended at Sam Houston Park.

Benjamin Zywicki, of The Woodlands, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 1:11:54, while Catherine Kruppa, of Houston, was the winner in the women's category with a time of 1:32:19.
