Chavez High School graduate Jamal Fenton scored nine points in New Mexico's 79-74 win over conference rival Boise State Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Taco Bell Arena in Boise, the New Mexico website reported.

The University of New Mexico senior guard also recorded two rebounds, one assist and two steals for the Lobos, who improved to 16-2 on the season and 3-0 in the Mountain West Conference.

New Mexico's next game is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at home against Colorado State University.

Fenton was rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com entering his senior season of play at Cesar E. Chavez in 2008-2009 playing for head coach Kevin Pullum. He was also ranked in the top-10 in the Houston area by RCSSports.com and top-20 in Texas by TexasHoops.com. He is the son of Hyron and Gail Fenton.
