Turtle race scheduled for Alvin ISD

Alvin Independent School District scheduled a turtle race for 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2.

According to a Alvin Independent School District release, "The day of the turtle race, the adopted turtles will be taken to Mustang Bayou and gently dropped in from the walkway bridge along the Tom Blakeney Hike and Bike Trail. The turtles will then race down the bayou to the prearranged finish line near the Adoue Street Bridge where they will be fished out and the winners determined."
