Pearland grad Bennett scores 3 points in San Diego victory
Pearland High School graduate Julia Bennett scored three points in the University of San Diego's 88-78 home win over conference rival Loyola Marymount University on Jan. 12, according to San Diego's website.
The junior guard helped the Toreros improve to 10-6 on the season and 2-2 in the WCC.
Bennett is a 2009 graduate of Pearland High School where she was named defensive and offensive player of the year in 2008. She averaged 18 points as a senior to go along with 3.2 assists four rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. As a senior she was named to the All-Greater Houston team and was named to the academic all-state team. She carried a 3.7 GPA into the University of San Diego. Bennett is from Pearland.
