Friendswood High School Wranglerettes place at competition

Members of the Friendswood High School Wranglerettes dance team recently placed at the Crowd Pleasers Winter Showcase competition at Dulles High School.

According to a press release from Friendswood High School issued Friday, Dec. 21, "Katelyn Begnaud was a solo finalist and placed fourth runner up overall, receiving a $100 scholarship. The Dance Officers received first place in the officer contemporary category and second for their officer jazz. The Social Officers placed first out of four routines and received an overall crowd pleaser award. In the medium ensemble category, the Illusion Ensemble placed first and Dream ensemble placed third."

The competition was held Saturday, Dec. 8.

Friendswood High School is at 702 Greenbriar, Friendswood.

Dulles High School is at 550 Dulles Ave., Sugar Land.

More than 1,700 students attend Friendswood High School. It is the only high school in the Friendswood Independent School District. The school's principal is Mark Griffon and associate principal is Diane Myers. Friendswood High School has been rated as a Texas Education Association Exemplary School for 14 years.
