242 Dawson and Pearland high school students earn AP awards
The AP program offers more than 30 college-level courses, such as chemistry, for high school students.
Thanks to high achievement on Advanced Placement exams, 242 Dawson and Pearland high school students have earned AP Scholar Awards.
Only 20 percent of the 2.1 million students worldwide who took the exams earned an AP Scholar Award, according to a press release from the Pearland Independent School District,
Scores released by the College Board this fall show that 134 DHS students and 108 PHS students qualified for AP Scholar Awards.
The AP program offers more than 30 college-level courses and exams that give high school students the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams, the release said.
