Pearland grad Bennett helps San Diego to victory
Pearland High School graduate Julia Bennett scored four points as San Diego won 78-72 at home over Central Michigan Friday, Dec. 28, at Jenny Craig Pavilion in San Diego, the team's website reported.
The University of San Diego junior guard also recorded a rebound for the Toreros, who improved to 8-3 on the season.
Bennett is a 2009 graduate of Pearland High School where she was named Defensive and Offensive Player of the year in 2008. She averaged 18 points as a senior to go along with 3.2 assists 4 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. As a senior she was named to the All-Greater Houston team and was named to the academic all-state team. She carried a 3.7 GPA into USD. Bennett is from Pearland and is the daughter of Willie and Joyce Bennett.
