Pearl Theater offers classes for young actors
Pearl Theater in Houston is offering two classes for burgeoning young thespians.
"Broadway Showcase," for those in third through fifth grade, starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.
Classes continue through Saturday, March 9.
Cost is $125 and registration is required.
According to a press release from Pearl Theater, "Students will learn what it means to be a 'triple threat.' In this performance-based class, students will learn to sing, act and dance to well-known Broadway tunes."
"Acting for the Stage," for those in fourth through eighth grade, starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Classes continue through Tuesday, March 5.
Cost is $125 and registration is required.
According to the press release, "What is blocking? What is the difference between upstage and downstage? What do I do in auditions? All these questions and more will be answered in this class for young actors. Students will touch on all areas of performance such as diction, stage presence, expressing emotions through monologues and scenework."
