Chavez grad Fenton plays in New Mexico loss to South Dakota State
Jamal Fenton, a Chavez High School graduate, is a senior guard for the University of New Mexico men's basketball team.
Chavez High School graduate Jamal Fenton contributed six points in New Mexico's 70-65 home loss to South Dakota State on Saturday, Dec. 22 at The Pit/Bob King Court in Albuquerque, N.M., New Mexico's website reported.
The New Mexico senior guard also contributed one rebound, two assists and a steal for the Lobos, who are 12-1 on the season.
New Mexico's next game is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 against Cincinnati.
Fenton was rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com entering his senior season of play at Cesar E. Chavez in 2008-2009 playing for head coach Kevin Pullum. He was also ranked in the top-10 in the Houston area by RCSSports.com and top-20 in Texas by TexasHoops.com. He is the son of Hyron and Gail Fenton.
