Manvel High School students celebrate National Writing Month
Several students from Manvel High School students gathered Dec. 12 to celebrate their participation in National Writing Month.
The school's Josin Tom, Dustin Keeling, Daniel Delgado, Matthew Rohren, Ronan Allencheril, Ashley Roberts, Muhammed Siddiqi, Kyle Knight, Adrian Sanchez, Paolo Geronimo, Abida Ahmed, Clarissa Rybicki, Lindsey Bruner, Jillian Granflor, Daniella Tibia, Aliza Farooq, Laurel Rawley, Kevin Vu, Tuyen Dinh, Jenny Lacy, Yaeji Lee, and Edward Geraldo attended the event.
According to a press release from Manvel High School, "As a part of National Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo, students from Manvel High School dedicated themselves to participating in the internet-based NaNoWriMo Young Writers Creative Writing Project. The students were challenged to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days, which is approximately equivalent to 133 double spaced pages. The purpose was to get the students excited about writing and overcome the apprehension of dedicating the time needed to begin a draft for a complete novel."
