Chavez grad Fenton contributes to New Mexico victory
Jamal Fenton, a Chavez High School graduate, is a senior guard for the University of New Mexico men's basketball team.
Chavez High School graduate Jamal Fenton contributed two points in the University of New Mexico's 68-63 win against New Mexico State University on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.
The University of New Mexico senior guard also recorded one rebound, one assist and a steal for the Lobos, who improved to 12-0 on the season, according to University of New Mexico's website.
The University of New Mexico's next game is at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at home against South Dakota State.
Fenton was rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com entering his senior season of play at Cesar E. Chavez in 2008-2009, playing for head coach Kevin Pullum. He was also ranked in the top-10 in the Houston area by RCSSports.com and top-20 in Texas by TexasHoops.com. He is the son of Hyron and Gail Fenton.
