Worthing High grad Herndon plays in Rice University loss
Emerson Herndon played for Rice University in a 58-51 loss at home against University of Hartford on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, according to Rice University's website.
The senior and the Owls are 2-7 on the season.
Rice University's next game is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at home against Chicago State.
From 2004 to 2008, Herndon played at Worthing High School under Nathaniel Gillespie, where he was a First-Team District 19-4A selection and MVP. He also was named to the All-Greater Houston team.
Off the court, Herndon was a Texas Scholar and National Honor Society member.
He is the son of Herbert and Sharon Herndon.
