Pearland Chamber accepting nominations for Business and Citizen of the Year awards

The Pearland Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for Pearland Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year.

The public is invited to submit nominations from now through Thursday, Dec. 20, according to a chamber press release.

The Citizen of the Year Award requires that the individual be a resident of Pearland. The Business of the Year Award requires that the nominee be a for-profit business located in Pearland that is a member of the chamber. That business must have operated for at least two years.

The Pearland Business of the Year was first given in 1976. It recognizes and honors a successful business that demonstrates leadership, creativity and integrity. The winner will be chosen from the pool of nominees based on their business achievement, employee relations, business innovation and community service.

The Citizen of the Year award was first given in 1978 to recognize a resident who has made an outstanding contribution toward the benefit of others in the community.

Both awards will presented Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at the Pearland Chamber's 51st annual meeting and banquet, which will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 2320 Hatfield Road, Pearland.

Individual tickets for the banquet can be purchased from the Pearland Commerce Center for $75 per person. Various sponsorship levels are available.

All nominations for the awards must be submitted to the Pearland Commerce Center, located at 6117 Broadway, Pearland.

For nomination or banquet information, call Lisa Vavricka at 281-485-3634, email lisa.vavricka@pearlandtexaschamber.us or visit www.pearlandtexaschamber.us.
