ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Ikeea Brown
Q: Who is your favorite athlete?
A: Probably Sanya Richards-Ross. I like the way she can pace herself.
Q: Who inspires you the most?
A: It’s a girl from school. Her name is Meschelle Gills. She inspires me because she helps me with my breathing, and she encourages me to think that, you know, I can do something. She motivates me, and she motivates the whole team.
Q: Do you have any rituals or superstitions that prepare you for the race?
A: I have to listen to music. I prefer to listen to hip-hop. That’ll get me hyped and ready to run my race.
Q: Do you want to run in college?
A: Yeah, I’d love to run in college if I get a scholarship, but if not, then I just want to go to school for nursing.
