E.C. Mason Student Council receives award

E.C. Mason Elementary School's student council received the 2012 Honor Student Council Excellence Award.

E.C. Mason Elementary School's student council received the 2012 Honor Student Council Excellence Award.

The National Association of Elementary School Principals gives the award to elementary school councils that demonstrate outstanding achievements in community service, student leadership, citizenship and school spirit. E.C. Mason's Student Council was one of 63 student councils in Texas to receive the award.

"Our students do an outstanding job being leaders at our campus and making a difference," said Fulvia Shaw, principal of E.C. Mason Elementary, according to a press release. "We are extremely proud of their efforts and thankful for this recognition.

The E.C. Mason Student Council includes Jake Adams, president; Anna Claire Curl, vice-president; Kirstyn Neal, secretary; Ashley Jackson, treasurer; Hannah Stuart, historian; and Sierra Serrato, parliamentarian.
