Clear Brook High School speech and debate team competes in Bay City High School Tournament
Students of the Clear Brook High School speech and debate team recently competed at the Bay City High School Tournament and took home multiple awards.
Rakesh Vijayakumar won third place in the Lincoln Douglas debate.
In the novice division, Arian Shariatmadari placed first, Samantha Farley placed second and Suketh Subramanya placed third.
In the Public Forum Debate, Ruchika Bengani, Amogh Kulkarni, Daniel Hogg and Javier Zepeda worked together to earn third place.
Armin Shariatmadari was a finalist in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking and placed third with teammates Rishi Suresh and Rakesh Vijayakumar. Suresh placed first in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking and Vijayakumar earned second.
Daniel Hogg placed second in Impromptu Speaking.
The Speech and Debate team won second place in the overall sweepstakes and has collected nine individual Texas Forensics Association state qualifications. More than 20 schools participated in the competition.
The state meet will take place in March of next year.
