Chavez High grad Fenton contributes to University of New Mexico victory
Chavez High School graduate Jamal Fenton played for University of New Mexico in a 65-52 win at home against Valparaiso University on Saturday, Dec. 8, according to University of New Mexico's website.
The senior guard recorded one rebound, one assist and one steal for the Lobos, who improved to 10-0 on the season.
University of New Mexico's next game is at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at home against New Mexico State University.
In 2008-2009 at Cesar E. Chavez High School, under head coach Kevin Pullum, Fenton was rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com.
The son of Hyron and Gail Fenton, he was also ranked in the top 10 in the Houston area by RCSSports.com and in the top 20 in Texas by TexasHoops.com.
