Chavez grad Fenton plays in University of New Mexico victory
Chavez High School graduate Jamal Fenton contributed to University of New Mexico's 73-58 home win against the University of Idaho on Friday, Nov. 23 in college basketball action.
According to the University of New Mexico's website, Fenton, a senior guard for the Lobos, recorded 6 points, 1 rebound and 3 steals. With the victory, the team improved to 5-0 on the season.
The University of New Mexico's next game is at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at home against the University of Portland.
Fenton was rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com entering his senior season of play at Cesar E. Chavez High School in 2008-2009 playing for head coach Kevin Pullum. He was also ranked in the top-10 in the Houston area by RCSSports.com and ranked in the top-20 in Texas by TexasHoops.com. He is the son of Hyron and Gail Fenton.
