ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Sarah Redding
Q: It must be challenging playing on the varsity squad as a sophomore.
A: It is very challenging, especially since this is my first year on the varsity squad. I would have to say I address the challenge by staying positive and not getting frustrated. I try to keep a good attitude and try to keep up with the upper classmen.
Q: What’s the most fun about playing volleyball?
A: Getting all the blocks is fun. And getting kills, that’s fun, too.
Q: You made it to the playoffs last year but just missed state. What do you have to do differently this season?
A: Stay positive and work hard. Last season, we had some less-concentrated people that weren’t as determined as others we’ve had. We feel this year is different. I think we have a stronger, more focused team this season.
Q: How will you feel when the season is over, especially when you’re going to lose a lot of seniors?
A: It’s going to be very sad losing five seniors this year. It will be a big difference next season.
