Skyller Walkes, Quentin Land and Michelle Boyd, of Nolan Ryan Junior High School, have received the Innovative Teaching Grant.
The Innovative Teaching Grant was made possible by the annual Education Foundation Fall Gala's Adopt-a-Grant program, where gala attendees had the opportunity to donate towards three grants through the silent and live auctions. Walkes, Land and Boyd were awarded $970.58 for their grant, The Bus Doesn’t Stop Here; Continue Your Academic Journey.
The honor was presented Oct. 29 by Sheila Olson, executive director of Education Foundation.
"We were unable to fund all grants last Spring during our regular Winners Wagon, but thanks to generous donations we were recently able to award additional campuses with grants," Olson said, according to a press release. "We are truly appreciative to all of the donors and supporters for making these grants possible."
