Pearland's Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital announces the successful open house

Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital of Pearland, providing pets with the best possible care, is proud to announce the huge success of their first Open House since opening their doors 15 years ago, and it was a huge success.

More than 250 visitors were on hand to participate in many activities, including coloring contests for the kids, swimming pools for the four-legged children and many educational displays. Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital offered free tours of their facility where visitors were able to see a display with many items poisonous to pets, a surgical display with Garfield the cat, radiographs (x-rays) of common ailments seen in pets at Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital. All visitors received free gift baskets and there were door prizes every 30 minutes.

In addition to the educational aspects, there were demonstrations from the Pearland Police Department K-9 Division, Officer Eric Morton and his partner Officer Nancy. There were also pet "clicker-training" demonstrations from Rachel Long of Bellecreek Dog Training Center and Pearland Animal Control was on hand to adopt out some of their pets.

There were plenty of other activities as well, including free hotdogs, popcorn and games. Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital accepted donations for Pearland Animal Control and Adoption Center. This money will be used to help care for the animals in their care until they are able to adopt them out to good homes.

"Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital's mascot "Clawd" was also on hand to help direct traffic and take photos with the kids. A great time was had by all who attended, and Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital would like to thank everyone who helped make our event a huge success. The staff worked very hard to make the event exciting and enjoyable to all, and they did a fantastic job!" said William Wickel of Claws & Paws Veterinary Hospital.

Photos of the event can be viewed on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/clawsandpawsvet and like them.

"We often post helpful information and tips regarding patient care, food recalls, special thanks, etc. We'd love to have you join our family." William added.
