3 Alvin runners complete Be The One Run 5K

Three athletes from Alvin completed the Be The One Run 5K on Sept. 15 in Sugar Land.

The runners from Alvin were (name, age, time) Kaytlnn Welsch, 12, 20:09; Heather Welsch, 10, 21:24; and Deanna Harter, 50, 37:55.

A total of 320 finished the 5K race, which was held at Sugar Land Town Square.

Brian Alvarado, of Houston, was the men's overall winner with a time of 16:42, while Heidi Zimmerman, of Houston, was the winner in the women's category with 19:13.
