20 Pearland runners complete Be The One Run 5K

Twenty athletes from Pearland completed the Be The One Run 5K on Sept. 15 in Sugar Land.

The runners from Pearland were (name, age, time) Joseph Hinojosa, 32, 22:34; Greg McAuley, 46, 23:34; Lisa Sirmon, 29, 24:21; Jaskaran Gill, 28, 25:34; Edward Mickelson, 42, 25:54; John Scott, 42, 27:05; Lisa Scott, 41, 30:36; Joseph Drescher, 41, 30:50; Rebecca Montz, 29, 32:18, Jim Haase, 59, 33:50; Shani Hagelberger, 41, 33:26; Wyatt Johnston, 16, 35:10; Colin Johnston, 41, 35:33; Veera Perumaalla, 42, 35:59; Veronica Scarborough, 28, 36:07; Tom Scarborough, 31, 40:00; Brenda Bricker, 51, 42:45; Shannon Johnston, 40, 53:45; Erin Johnston, 13, 53:48; and Walter Gonzalez, 46, 58:38.

A total of 320 finished the 5K race, which was held at Sugar Land Town Square.

Brian Alvarado, of Houston, was the men's overall winner with a time of 16:42, while Heidi Zimmerman, of Houston, was the winner in the women's category with 19:13.
