Houston Westbury will battle Pearland Dawson in high school football action, Sept. 14

The Houston Westbury High School football team will try to win its first game of the season on Friday, Sept. 14 when it battles Pearland Dawson in a 7 p.m. game at Butler Stadium.

The Rebels are 0-2 after a 25-19 loss to Houston Sharpstown on Thursday, Sept. 6. The Rebels tallied 219 yards and Joshua House completed 15 of his 26 passes for 197 yards. He threw one touchdown pass. Rohiem Dennis rushed for one touchdown and returned a kickoff 60 yards for a score.

The Eagles are 1-0 after knocking off Montgomery 28-17 in their opener Friday, Sept. 7. Pearland Dawson finished with 357 yards. Shawn McDuffie rushed for two touchdowns while James White and Josh Sharp scored one rushing touchdown apiece in the win.

The Rebels will play Elkins on Thursday, Sept. 20 and will take on Houston Lamar on Friday, Sept. 28. They will play at Westside on Friday, Oct. 5. All three games will begin at 7 p.m.

The Eagles will play Clear Falls on Friday, Sept. 21 and will play at Baytown Goose Creek Memorial on Friday, Oct. 12. They will play host to Friendswood on Friday, Oct. 26. All three games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
