Alvin FFA announces September meetings, new officers

The Alvin High School Future Farmers of America has announced its new officers and September meeting schedule for the 2012-13 school year.

The FFA officers this year are Melissa Warrick, president; Kelsey White, vice president; Nathan Burton, secretary; McKala Stidham, treasurer; Andrew Stanton, reporter; and Gage Hersey, sentinel. Faculty advisors are Mr. Meyers and Ms. Kurten.

The Alvin FFA regular meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 20 and the Area III Greenhand Camp is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29. FFA members should contact their advisors for meeting times and locations.

The Alvin FFA Farm Facilitator is Charles Knippa.

FFA is a national organization that facilitates leadership, personal growth and career success through participation in leadership, career development and supervised agricultural events.

Alvin High School is located at 802 S. Johnson St., Alvin.
