Southwyck Golf Club Hosts Hero Appreciation Day Golf Celebration on Sept. 11

To commemorate Sept. 11 and honor the heroes of this great country, Southwyck Golf Club is holding "Hero Appreciation Day," a special golf celebration. On Sept. 11, the first tournament begins in the morning at 8 a.m., while the afternoon session begins at 2 p.m.

To be eligible to join, teams must be composed of four members, one of which must be a hero, or active or retired military, police, fire or EMS worker.

"The first 100 paid players have guaranteed spots," David Esch, general manager of Southwyck Golf Club, said. "If you do not have a hero in your group, entry is $10 more per player."

The 8 a.m. shotgun is only $30.95 per player or $120 per team, and includes golf and cart, range balls, lunch by Firehouse Subs, drink tickets, closest to pin, longest drive, tournament prizes, $5 off voucher for Proshop Merchandise, a voucher for Macaroni Grill, and four free greens fees at the club's area courses. The 2 p.m. shotgun is only $26.95 per player or $104 per team, and includes golf and cart, range balls, dinner by Macaroni Grill, lunch by Firehouse Subs, drink tickets, closest to pin, longest drive, tournament prizes, four free green fees at the club's area courses and a $5 off voucher for Proshop Merchandise.
