Friendswood High School cheerleaders earn awards at national camp

The varsity, junior varsity and freshman cheerleading squads at Friendswood High School recently competed at the National Cheerleading Association Cheerleading Camp in Galveston.   All squads received Superior ratings on every day of camp. Friendswood High School also earned the Spirit, Herkie, Champion Chant and Top Team Performance awards. The varsity squad earned the Good Attitude Award as well.   "Each day, the squads are evaluated on their routines and every squad in all three evaluations received Superior ratings," said FHS Cheer coach Kerri Yee in the press release. "This is a first for Friendswood, so obviously we are very proud of this accomplishment. As a group, we are also excited to say how awesome it is that every cheerleader and mascot was nominated for NCA All-American. Several girls went on to make the All-American team."   Individual cheerleaders who received recognition at the camp included Ashton Clement, who was recognized for leadership; Liz Buzbee, who won Most Improved Mascot; and Rachel Steed and Erin Gray, who received the NCA Staff Interview Invitation.   Friendswood High School is located at 702 Greenbriar.
