Monica Eaton and Ethan Zanner were named the City of Pearland Employees of the Quarter by Mayor Tom Reid and City Manager Bill Eisen.

The announcement came at the city council meeting Aug. 13.

This honor was given to Eaton and Zanner for the third quarter of 2012 and included plaques and certificates of honor.

Eaton is a full-time employee of the city and serves as administrative secretary for the fire department. She has been with the city of Pearland for seven years. She is instrumental in providing leadership and planning for department training and events. Also, Eaton was the organizer of the Fire & EMS Station 6 grand opening event held recently, according to a press release.

Zanner is a part-time employee, serving as a fitness attendant for Pearland Parks & Recreation Department. Zanner was cited for his warm and welcoming personality as well as the excellent customer service he has provided to the department and its clients. He has been noted by fellow employees for his willingness to go above and beyond his assigned duties, according to the press release.

Both Eaton and Zanner were honored for their commitment to excellence and the core beliefs of the city.

The Employee of the Quarter award was established by the city of Pearland to honor those workers who exemplify the core beliefs of the city by serving as responsive, results-oriented and trust-building accountable employees, says the press release.
