'The Nerd' tickets on sale
Tickets to the play "The Nerd" are now on sale in the Pearland area.
The play will be staged daily between Aug. 31 and Sept. 16 except for Labor Day, Sept. 2. Shows will be at the Pearland Theatre Guild, 11601 Shadow Creek Parkway, Ste #111-234 in Pearland.
A press release describes the show as a comedy which revolves around strait-laced architect Willum Cubbert, who is in love with Tansy McGinnis, who is about to leave town to be a weather girl and further her career. Other characters are Axel Hammond, a wise-cracking theater critic and best friend to Willum and Tansy "Ticky" Waldgrave, for whom Willum is designing a hotel, his wife Clelia who "works with slow learners" and their obnoxious child Thor.
Suddenly, Rick Steadman, the nerd of the title, shows up at Willum's door after having saved his life in a war, and moves in to stay, driving everyone crazy.
