Pearland Parks to offer Girl Scout safe boating test
A safe boating test for Girl Scouts will take place from 9-10 a.m. Aug. 25 in lane 23 at the Recreation Center and Natatorium.
The test is for girls age 6 and older. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
Taking the test is required to allow Scouts to take part in certain camp activities. It involves having participants float for five minutes while being fully clothed.
To be qualified to take the test, Scouts must have a level three swimming certificate.
The last day to register for the test is Aug. 24.
