Pearland Juniors Volleyball Club to hold pre-tryout clinic
The Pearland Juniors Volleyball Club will hold two pre-tryout clinics for incoming seventh- and eighth-graders from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 13-16 and Aug. 20-23.
The cost for each week's clinic is $125 per student. Participants must have at least one year of club experience.
For club players, the athletes will prepare for junior high tryouts by experiencing fundamental training in passing, serving, hitting and setting. Participants will have a team scrimmage for one hour.
Nonclub players will have fundamental training in serving, receiving, free ball and defense using the 6/2 system.
The clinics will be held at Berry Miller Junior High, located at 3301 Manvel Road in Pearland.
Nonmembers will meet in the girls' gym and club players will be in the boys' gym.
