Pearland Chamber accepting applications for Leadership Pearland

The Leadership Pearland program, run by the Pearland Chamber of Commerce and beginning in September, is currently accepting applications.

Participants go through sessions in areas including personal skills, government, economic development, social needs and other topics that affect the development of the community.

One objective of the program is to promote active involvement in civic and community affairs.

The program includes six day-long sessions, an evening reception, a two-day retreat and an overnight trip to the state capital.

For an additional fee, a trip to the nation's capital is available.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 7.
