Thelma Ley Anderson Family YMCA holds day camps
Thelma Ley Anderson Family YMCA of Alvin is hosting a series of day camps for children ages 5-11 from now through Aug. 17.
Day camps run from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Children will enjoy supervised activities that focus on core values, conflict resolution and leadership skills. The activities are fun, build self-confidence and help children learn the value of teamwork, according to the press release.
Activities are focused arts and crafts, science and technology, swimming, field trips, nature and cultural understanding.
Children must register at least 48 hours before each session. Cost is $125 for facility members and $160 for program members.
Upcoming programs include "There's No Place Like Show Business" (July 16-20) and "Splash and Dash" (July 23-27).
Thelma Ley Anderson Family YMCA is located at 3201 S. Highway 35 in Alvin.
