Two runners from Pearland complete Nolen Vargas Scholarship 5K
Two runners from Pearland completed the Nolen Vargas Scholarship 5K on Saturday, June 30 in New Braunfels.
Dan Orth, 29, completed the race in 21:08, and Kendra Orth, 28, crossed the finish line in 26:27.
A total of 281 runners finished the 5-kilometer race. The race was held in memory of Nolen Vargas, a member of the Canyon High School Cross Country and Track teams.
The race was sponsored by the Canyon Cross Country team and the New Braunfels Running Club. Matt Miller of Cypress was the men’s overall winner with a time of 16:34, while Sarah Boatright of New Braunfels was the women’s winner in 20:07.
