Students from 11 local schools enrolled in the Harris County Department of Education's Cooperative for After-School Enrichment Program performed at the Hobby Center's Kids' Day on June 27.

Actors, puppeteers, visual artists and musicians collaborated with the students on their performances, which included singing, dancing and acting.

"For many of these students, it's a first chance to see downtown and a unique experience to perform in the prestigious Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center," said CASE Director Lisa Caruthers in a press release. "It also gives students an opportunity to explore the arts and discover activities that could become future hobbies."

Schools represented were Kujawa Elementary, Bush Elementary, Galena Park High School, Kruse Elementary, Sablatura Middle School, Carleston Elementary, Carroll Elementary, Sheldon Elementary, Roberts Road Elementary, Waller High School and YES Prep West Charter School.
