Pearland police to hold Citizen's Police Academy
The Pearland Police Department will begin its next Pearland Citizen’s Police Academy session on Thursday, Aug. 2.
The class will meet at the police department from 7-10 p.m. every Thursday for 12 weeks.
The academy is a free program open to all residents that live or work in the Pearland area. Applicants must be at least 18 years old; those 17 years old and accompanied by an adult are also welcome. Prospective participants will be subject to a background check and cannot have a misdemeanor “B” or greater conviction.
The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to foster communication between citizens and police through education.
