Bingo promotes Parks and Rec Month
July is Parks and Recreation Month.
The Pearland Parks and Recreation Department wants to make sure residents know about the nature programs, swimming lessons, exercise and health classes and more this summer. And to encourage participation, this year there will be a monthlong bingo game to get people to take advantage of their Parks and Recreation Department offerings.
A typical bingo card features five columns labeled “B,” “I,” “N,” “G” and “O” from left to right, with the numbers one through 75 printed on it. To participate in Parks and Recreation bingo, people can attend the activities that are written in each square. To get credit, they must take a photo of themselves doing the activity.
The first 50 entries will receive prizes. A special prize will be awarded to the first participant to turn in a “P” bingo, and the grand prize will be awarded to the first participant to turn in a blackout, which covers every square on the board. Diagonal, vertical and horizontal bingos will also be accepted.
Players can get their cards at the summer concerts or at the Recreation Center and Natatorium, located at 4141 Bailey Road in Pearland. Participants will need to turn in the completed card with pictures to the Recreation Center and Natatorium by July 31. All pictures should be submitted on a nonreturnable disk. Winners will be announced by August.
