Pearland Chamber hires vice president of destination marketing
Cory Cart has been hired as the vice president of destination marketing for the Pearland Chamber of Commerce.
Cart's appointment went into effect on June 4.
"We look forward to his bringing us to the next level in our evolving tour," Chamber President Carol Artz-Bucek said, according to a press release.
Cart is a former public relations coordinator for the Oklahoma Department of Tourism, director of promotions for Lazy E Arena and has worked with the Stillwater Convention and Visitors Bureau.
"Pearland has tremendous tourism potential, especially in the meetings and convention market," Cart said in the press release. "The people of Pearland have shown me they are excited about their community, and that is a wonderful attitude to have when prospective meeting planners visit Pearland."
Cart has worked on many tourism and marketing campaigns and with travel writers from around the country, as well as from England, Japan, Canada, Australia, Holland, Germany and Scotland. He has worked with media outlets such as the "Today Show," the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and BBC-London.
"While the No. 1 reason people travel is to visit family, the No. 1 activity they engage in is shopping," Cart said in the press release. "Pearland has many wonderful opportunities to satisfy their needs."
"With the wonderful sports facilities already in place, there is great momentum to move forward and attract some great groups that will benefit the local economy," Cart added.
