Pearland-area runners complete Dad's Day 5K
Forty-two Pearland-area runners completed the Dad's Day 5K on Saturday, June 16 in Houston.
The runners from Alvin are: Kyle Kettler, 32, (24:25); Joyce Kettler, 61, (37:49); Heidi Scherer, 35, (41:25); and Stephanie Rolen, 29, (45:47).
The Pearland runners who participated in the race are: Maximo Mendoza, 23, (15:41); Monica Castellanos, 33, (24:36); Greg May, 51, (25:06); Michelle Caballero, 40, (26:40); Leigh Ann Korfhage, 35, (27:21); Cody Robertson, 29, (27:25); Travis Hughes, 29, (27:32); Lisanne Chancey, 30, (27:38); Zach May, 14, (27:50); and Tanner Jones, 26, (28:05). Nineteen other local runners from Pearland also crossed the finish line.
The runners from Pasadena are: Marco Chacon, 18, (18:45); Odasy Morua, 17, (19:25); Jimmy Hamon, 30, (26:59); Nick Holloway, 17, (27:37); Richard Lira, 51, (27:57); Kasey Mahaney, 17, (31:26); Jane Juarez, 35, (33:00); and Dennis Mangum, 64, (33:28).
Darrell Bailey, 59, of Deer Park completed the race with a time of 24:11.
A total of 860 runners finished the 5K race, which started and ended on Prairie under the Wortham Arch. The course is USATF-certified.
Maximo Mendoza, of Pearland was the men’s overall winner with a time of 15:41, while Lauren Smith of Lake Jackson was the women’s winner in 17:23.
