Alvin ISD employees recognized at celebration

Employees of the Alvin ISD were recognized at a celebration held in their honor on June 1 by the board of trustees and administrators.

Awards were given for campus teachers and paraprofessionals of the year, employees of the year, retirees and service.

Ana Pasarella of Savannah Lakes Elementary School and Grady McWhorter of Manvel High School were selected as teachers of the year.

LaGwena Denney of Alvin Junior High School was chosen as district paraprofessional of the year.

"The end of the year employee recognition celebration is a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation to every Alvin ISD employee,” said Fred Brent, schools superintendent. “It is because of the outstanding work ethic and dedication of our employees that our students continue to excel."
