Alvin Parks and Rec to offer fashion designer program for girls
Girls ages 8-12 can learn how to become designers this summer at a program sponsored by Alvin Parks and Recreation Department.
The weeklong course will teach fashion principles including basic sketching techniques, coordinating colors for the best effect, mixing textures and patterns for scale and perception and cultural fashion history.
Designs will come to life with patterned papers, ribbons, sequins, jewels and other embellishments.
The program will be held from 9-11 a.m. July 30 through Aug. 3 at Alvin High School, 802 S. Johnson St.
Cost is $89.
