Students from Cline Elementary School presented a check for $3,114.68 to the Ronald McDonald House in Galveston.
Funds raised came from the operation of the school's Pony Outpost store, created by two teachers as part of its economics curriculum.
Students open the store – now in its fifth year of existence - for two days in late spring, selling items including painted boxes, door hangers, flower pens, pet rocks and flip-flops.
Many of the items for sale are handmade by students.
A representative from Ronald McDonald House came to accept the donation on May 29.
