Two runners from Alvin and 12 runners from Pearland complete Heights Fun Run
Two runners from Alvin and 12 runners from Pearland completed the Heights Fun Run on June 2 in Houston.
Kaitlyn Welsch, 11, and Heather Welsch, 9, both from Alvin, completed the race in 21:15:00 and 21:48:00, respectively. Kenneth Parsley, 28, and Kasie Harris, 26, were among the fastest Pearland runners to finish. They crossed the finish line in 19:45:00 and 20:09:00, respectively. Ten other Pearland runners finished the race.
A total of 921 runners finished the 5K race, which started and ended at Marmion Park. The race was organized by the Houston Heights Association.
Sean Wade of Houston was the men's overall winner with a time of 15:20:00, while Allison Pye, also of Houston, was the women's winner in 16:53:00.
