ACC-Pearland to offer rock 'n' roll camp
Alvin Community College in Pearland will present a summer rock 'n' roll camp for young people June 11-14.
The camp is for seventh- to 12th-graders in the region who play guitar, bass or drums.
Participants will experience being in a rock band and will be taught technique and stage presence. They will also perform in a live rock concert.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. Camp members will perform in a rock concert at 7 p.m. Thursday night.
Jim Calderon, Tim Salter and Shane Gormly will lead the camp. All are working professional musicians and teachers at ACC.
The cost of the camp is $150. The camp will meet on the ACC campus, which is located at 2319 Grand Blvd. in Pearland.
