Pearland roofer accused of shoddy work

A Houston man is suing over claims a Pearland contractor caused the roof on his house to leak.

Houston resident Franklin Chow filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, June 6 in the Harris County District Court against Pearland company Magnum Roofing, Piper Ann Chilson, Dustin Jeff Chilson and Cherie Ann Chilson, citing breach of contract, violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and breach of warranty.

Chow says on Nov. 14, 2011, he hired Magnum to repair the roof on his Houston-area home. According to the brief, company employees failed to seal the roof, which allowed water to leak into the house.

The suit further alleges that Magnum Roofing refused to repair the damage and to honor the 15-year warranty, as contracted.

Chow is seeking damages, attorney's fees and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Jeffrey Brashear.
