Future nurses advice to peers: Stay in school
“Just over five months ago,” said Ayanna Flores, “I was blessed with a baby brother, Sebastian. Loving and caring for my brother has only increased my resolve to study hard and reach my goals so I can set the right example for his future.
Having a baby brother has convinced me that I am nowhere close to being ready for having the responsibility of my own children. My advice to other teenage girls -- stay in school, study!”

Accomplishments: Member of the track team and an excellent student. A personal accomplishment she is proud of is, “Despite my father’s passing,” said Ayanna, “I have excelled in school and track. I never give up! The most important thing in the world to me is my family, I want to make them proud.”

Ambition: “After college, I want to work as a neonatal nurse. I know that it takes a certain constitution to nurse the most ill, but I definitely have what it takes.”
